The Silesia Park is the perfect, children-friendly family spot. Aside from plenty of fun and recreation, the Park is a great place for learning about nature, shaping pro-environmental attitudes and teaching your child that being outside can be fun regardless of the time of year.

A plan for a trip along the “children’s trail”:

1. START at Poland’s only three-legged GIRAFFE, one of the most recognizable symbols of the Silesian Park, entered into the register of historic monuments of Chorzów.

2. Take Giraffe Avenue towards the main gate of the Silesian Zoo.

3. After reaching General Jerzy Ziętek Promenade, take one of the three available paths:

a) turn right and walk several hundred metres to reach the entrance to the Silesian Theme Park. The Silesian Adventure Park and the station of “Elka” cableway are nearby.

b) walk straight to the main entrance to the Silesian Zoo which has the famous Dinosaur Valley and a new, safe playground with a climbing wall,

c) turn left and enter the fenced-off Rosarium - a vast garden with a sprawling meadow, a pond, a picturesque water pool and thousands of rose bushes blooming from spring to autumn. In the Rosarium, children can have fun on the playground while adults relax in the beautiful scenery.

4. FINISH - cap off your Silesia Park experience with a visit to the Silesian Adventure Park, located between the side entrance to the Silesian Zoo and Złota street.

The Silesia Park has plenty of child-friendly attractions, with plenty of grass to run around and play football on, bike and roller-skating paths, and wide avenues to take your dog on a leisurely walk. For older children, a visit to the Silesian Planetarium could be an interesting stop on the itinerary.
